Ancillary HVAC Equipment

1

Introduction

To supplement the range of in house manufactured equipment Wozair are also able to supply other manufacturer’s high integrity HVAC

products for the Oil & Gas Industries.

These products are sourced from BS EN ISO 9000 approved vendors that have been approved by Wozair and are able to meet the high standards of

design, manufacture and documentation required.

Products include Electric Air Duct Heaters, Steam Humidifiers, Pneumatic Air Reservoirs and various other equipment and spare parts.

Electric Air Duct Heaters

Heaters rated for both Zone 1 Hazardous Area and Non Hazardous Area classification are available with casings in either stainless steel 316L or galvanized sheet steel depending on application and specification.

Hazardous Area Heaters

Wozair is able to provide electric air heater batteries rated EEx’e’ or EEx’d’ for use in Zone 1 & 2 hazardous areas. These heaters are certified to Atex Directive 94/9/EC.

Heaters rated EEx’e’ are certified to CENELEC EN50014 & EN50019 and

heaters rated EEx’d’ are certified to CENELEC EN50014 & EN50018.For offshore applications, heater elements will be manufactured from 80/20 nickel chrome resistance wire centred in 11mm diameter Incoloy 800 sheaths insulated with compacted magnesium oxide.

Elements will be formed and glanded to mounting plates with element support plate/spacer attached to the underside where necessary.Element mounting plates will be bolted into a fully welded duct case fabricated from stainless steel 316L complete with formed flanges as required.Earthing bosses can be provided on the case as required.

Elements will be terminated in an IP66 fabricated stainless steel 316L enclosure.Thermal protection is provided by way of temperature cutouts such as thermostats,RTD’s or thermocouples. For EEx’e’ heaters 3 thermal cut-outs (1 per phase),per heating stage, sensing element surface temperature and 1 thermal cut-out sensing air temperature are provided. For EEx’d’ heaters 1 thermal cut-out sensing element surface temperature and 1 thermal cut-out sensing air temperature are provided.

For hazardous area applications the maximum surface temperature during operation is limited to 150°C with

element sensing cut-outs set to trip at between 165°C & 175°C.Where required an anti-condensation heater can be provided.

Non – Hazardous (Safe) Area Heaters

Typical applications for these heaters include accommodation areas of offshore platforms and ships and antiicury for air intakes on gas turbines.

Single phase heaters up to 3kw are typically used for cabin terminal units being supplied with a local wall mounted room thermostat and auto reset over temperature cut out.

The duct case will be either galvanised steel, painted steel or stainless steel.

Heater elements will be black heat type comprising 80/20 nickel chrome wire centred in 8/11mm diameter (depending on duty) Incoloy 800 sheaths insulated with compacted magnesium oxide.

Element temperature is restricted subject to the application but would typically be limited to 150°C for T3 applications or 400°C.

Elements will be terminated in a flush mounted or stand off enclosure rated IP42 to IP56.

Over temperature cut-outs are provided such as thermostats, RTD’s or thermocouples.

All single phase heaters are designed for on – off control. Three phase heaters are designed for thyristor or step control.A standard range of nonhazardous (Safe) area single stage thyristor control panels can be provided. Panels are generally manufactured in mild steel with an epoxy paint finish in RAL7032 colour. Panels are rated a minimum IP42.

A thyristor control panel can be provided with:

Door interlocked isolator Contactor Thyristor Trip amplifiers Indicator lamps -

power on Element overtemperature Air  overtemperature Panel over temperature

Start push button Stop push button Manual reset switch It is preferable to provide heater control suitable for operation in a nonhazardous area. However, if required Wozair can supply Zone 1 certified, EEx ‘d’ IIB T6, control panels.

Steam Humidifiers

Electrically operated fresh steam humidifiers can either be supplied within an Air Handling Unit or with a distribution grid for installation into a duct system.

It is normal to locate the electrical equipment within a non hazardous area

Humidifiers supplied are standard proprietry units from established suppliers and as such may not be strictly in accordance with client package, instrumentation and cabling specifications, although certain modifications can be carried out, instrument tagging etc.

Humidifiers comprise an electric element steaming chamber, with a single steaming chamber/control cabinet capable of generating 5-80kgs steam/hour at typical duct pressure of +/- 1250 Pa.

For higher duties multiple chambers can be manifolded together and run in parallel by a single controlling humidity sensor, with high humidity override, via a signal selection control box.

The following features are available:

Self cleaning super alloy Incoloy 825 heating elements

 Stainless steel evaporation chamber

Micro processor control with LCD display and fault diagnosis

0-100% modulation Precise control +/- 1% relative humidity

Internal and external over temperature protection

Water Level protection to prevent element burn out

Output modulation from either a 010v dc, 2-10v dc or 4-20 mA Control signal.

Steam pipe distribution systems are available to suit the duct dimensions, and comprise stainless steel pipe with an adjustable positioning manifold and precision machined nozzles. This ensures that the steam is delivered dry and condensation free.

Air Reservoirs

Pneumatic Air Reservoirs are available from Wozair to provide a supply to open one or more Fire Dampers under “Black Start” conditions when the normal compressed air supply system is unavailable.

Air Reservoirs are individually selected for the correct capacity dependant on the number of Fire Dampers to be opened, the respective actuator sizes and the system operating pressure.

Air Reservoirs have the following features:

Stainless steel 316L construction Manufactured and hydraulically tested to 18barg in accordance with

ASME VII DIV (NCS) Design temperature -50ºC to +50ºC Third Party witnessed testing (Bureau Veritas)

Other Equipment and Spares

Packaged Air Conditioning Units CHW Pumps and Buffer Tanks Pressurisation Units REVENT Kitchen Extract Hoods and Ceilings

Welding Bay Extract Hoods Spreader Beams and Lifting Equipment

 Structural Bases and General Fabrications

Spare Filters, Fan Belts, Motors, Instrumentation and Damper Control Components
